An alter ego (Latin, "the other I") is a second self, which is believed to be distinct from a person's normal or original personality. A person who has an alter ego is said to lead a double life. A distinct meaning of alter ego can be found in literary analysis, wherein it describes characters in different works who are psychologically similar, or a fictional character whose behavior, speech or thoughts intentionally represent those of the author. Alter Ego is in reference to the Latin term meaning "the other I".

RP on this wiki will be taking place mostly in North America in a dystopian future, meaning that in this future world of Alter Ego Roleplay Wiki everything is controlled by The Council, and everything The Council does is opposed by Optivus. Each citizen is born implanted with voice automated technology, and biometric identification. Each citizen of age is allowed by law sanctioned laser weaponry, flying vehicles, and approved futuristic devices.
